Jessica Fett was the heart and soul of her family—a devoted wife, a loving mother, a gifted nurse, and a light in the lives of all who knew her.
She lived life with passion, purpose, and a generosity of spirit that left a mark on everyone she met. Jess wasn’t just admired for her outer beauty, but for the warmth, kindness, and strength that radiated from within.
Travel was her greatest passion—her way of exploring, connecting, and feeling truly alive. She had a wanderlust like no one else, always planning the next journey, always seeing the world with wonder and excitement. It was her escape, her joy, and her way of making memories that would last a lifetime.
Jess also found joy in life’s simple pleasures—sunsets, rainbows, good food, a glass of wine, and time with the people she loved. She reminded us to slow down, appreciate the moment, and find beauty in the everyday.
On the 24th of April 2024, at just 42 years old, Jess was diagnosed with a large brain tumour. Five days after her diagnosis, Jess underwent a biopsy. Just two days later, she required emergency surgery as the tumour had already grown so aggressively. The pace at which it took hold was devastating, but Jess never let go of her strength or her love for life.
Just 16 days after Jess was diagnosed, she passed away from Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM)—one of the most aggressive and unforgiving brain cancers. There was no time to prepare, no real warning, and no second chances. The speed and cruelty of this disease was unimaginable, yet Jess faced it with astonishing grace, courage, and love.
In her memory, we’ve created Sunsets for Life—a foundation dedicated to helping others impacted by GBM. Our mission is not only to raise awareness of this devastating illness, but to provide real, practical support to the families and surgeons fighting it. From supplying essential equipment to offering guidance and comfort, we aim to make a difference in the way Jess would have wanted: with heart, strength, and purpose.
Jess lived fully and gave selflessly. This foundation is our way of continuing her legacy—carrying her light forward and making a real difference, just as she always did.
